Ryan and Miller score first Morecambe goals in AFC Liverpool win

Jack Ryan and Shaun Miller scored their first Morecambe goals as a young Shrimps side ran out 5-2 winners at AFC Liverpool on Wednesday night.

Preston North End loanee Ryan scored twice as The Shrimps came from 2-0 down to win their final warm-up ahead of the new League 2 season kicking off on Saturday at Hartlepool.

Connor Belger opened the scoring for the hosts after 20 minutes, curling a shot beyond Tony Thompson.

It was two on 39 minutes thanks to a fine strike from Francis Barry but Ryan soon reduced the arrears four minutes before the break with a close-range finish.

The 19-year-old headed The Shrimps level on 67 minutes and the inexperienced Morecambe XI never looked back.

Captain for the night Chris Doyle put them in front on 71 minutes with Miller scoring the fourth three minutes later.

Jack Kelleher completed the scoring six minutes from time.
