Former Premier League defender Darren Peacock has been officially confirmed as Lancaster City’s new head coach.
The Lancaster Guardian revealed last Tuesday that the man who made his name with Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park Rangers was set to take over at Giant Axe.
He will take charge of the final game of the season at Salford on May 4.
A brief statement on the club’s website said: “Lancaster City are delighted to announce the successful conclusion of negotiations with Darren Peacock to become our new head coach.
“Darren will take overall control of the playing staff next week for our match at Salford City on May 4, and is committed to realising the aspirations of the club and our supporters through the development of local talent.”
