LANCASTER City manager Tony Hesketh has admitted that the impressive performances of some of his young players means they could leave the club at the end of the season.
Boss Hesketh was forced to turn to youth following the departures of star players Andrew Teague and Paul Jarvis as the club aimed to balance the books.
Assistant manager Phil Brown’s Myerscough College students have come in and excelled, helping City to defeat Belper Town and lift the President’s Cup last Tuesday.
Hesketh said: “We could struggle to keep some of the younger players, you never know.
“They’re straight out of college football and free agents in many respects.
“I’m sure clubs will be looking at the likes of Max Rothwell and Alex Meaney.”
