Neil Marshall column: We need to cut out the errors and take our chances

It’s becoming a bit of a common theme at the moment.

We were the architects of our own downfall against Harrogate on Saturday with the defensive mistake but we had chances in the second half.

It turned into just one of those days as no matter what we did it seemed we weren’t going to score.

They’ve been on a good run recently, it was their sixth win in a row, but we more than matched them.

It was just a bad day at the office, really disappointing and frustrating.

It was our fourth league defeat in a row but I think we could have had something from all of them.

We need to put an end to the errors and start taking our chances.

We know what we’re capable of, we’ve just got to start showing it.

I’m sure once we pick up one win we can go on a run.

The return of Tom Kilifin will help that.

After nearly leaving for Kendal Killer got a lot of stick in training but hopefully he can start scoring goals like he did at the start of the season.

We’ve lost Ryan Winder to injury though and he’s been one of our best players in recent weeks.

The first game he’ll miss will be the game against Scarborough at Giant Axe on Saturday.

I don’t know much about them but they’ve been a big club in the past and are up near the top of the table.

We’ve matched everyone at home so far though and we’ve just got to start turning decent performances into wins.
