Neil Marshall column: It’s a different type of pressure this weekend

It’s obviously a bit of a change for us this Saturday compared to recent weeks.

We’ve got a different kind of pressure playing Ossett Town at Giant Axe.

Making the play-offs looks a big ask but we’re setting ourselves up nicely for next year

We’ve had a run against the top sides but now we’re expected to win at home.

People will look on us as the favourites but we’ve got to be at it again and can’t take our foot off the gas.

The defeat at Darlington on Wednesday was disappointing because it was our mistakes that gave them the game.

We had the confidence from the Salford win, which was pretty much a perfect away performance, but we made too many errors.

We should have cleared our lines for the first goal but even after it we started to get into the game.

The second goal was avoidable as well though because we gave the ball away cheaply on the edge of our area.

I don’t think it was a 3-0 game though. We pushed a bit in the second half but couldn’t find a way through.

The game was the final of a run against the top four and I think we’ve more than matched each of them and could have taken something from everyone.

Making the play-offs looks a big ask but we’re setting ourselves up nicely for next year.

We’ve got a young squad who will be a year older too. There’s plenty to be positive about.
