Lancaster City striker Tom Kilifin is set to leave the club for rivals Kendal Town.
The Guardian understands that the Mintcakes have returned for the striker they first showed an interest in last November.
The Dolly Blues’ Evo-Stik First Division North rivals are believed to have put in a seven-day notice of an approach for the striker earlier this week with Kilifin deciding his future is at the Lancaster and Morecambe College Stadium.
Having fought to keep his man first time around, City boss Darren Peacock is now willing to let the striker move on to pastures new.
Kilifin will become the second player to swap Lancaster for Kendal this summer after Sam Bailey also made the move.
It represents a blow for the Blues ahead of the new season kicking off at Burscough on August 15 but Morecambe legend Danny Carlton is set for talks with Peacock on Thursday night with a view to becoming a permanent member of the squad.
City’s final friendly sees them host Workington this Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.
