Lancaster City’s run against the top sides in the Evo-Stik First Division North continues at Scarborough Athletic on Saturday.

After a 1-0 defeat to third in the table Northwich Victoria at Giant Axe on Saturday, Darren Peacock’s side travel to North Yorkshire to take on the fourth-placed Seadogs.

The City boss, whose side are 12th in the table, said: “The annoying thing on Saturday was that the teams around us all drew.

“I feel it was a missed chance and it doesn’t get any easier. They’re a top-four side but the way we play some times I feel we could be in that position.”

Peacock will not have any new faces in the squad ahead of the game having so far been frustrated in his attempts to bring people in on loan.

The former Newcastle and Blackburn defender said: “We definitely need some more competition.

“We went to look at some players on Monday but we didn’t think they’d strengthen what we’ve already got.

“We’re still looking because we need to strengthen.”

The reverse against Northwich was a frustrating one for the Blues who did more than enough to take something from a side they had beaten two weeks earlier.

Peacock said: “I thought we played really well.
“We had three or four clear-cut chances in the first half and had most of the possession.

“We were just unlucky.

“I’m obviously disappointed with the result but the performance was pleasing.”

Lee Dodgson trained for the first time in more than a month on Monday with Peacock having almost a full compliment of players to chose from ahead of the trip of Scarborough.

Aaron Taylor could miss out due to increased work commitments however.
