Lancaster City Ladies’ good run of form continued with a 9-1 win over Accrington Girls & Ladies Development at Giant Axe on Sunday.

Captain fantastic Kayleigh Young hit six as the Dollies made it three wins from four in the Lancashire FA Women’s County League Division Two this season.

Accrington went in front three minutes in but Emily Wilson equalised shortly before the quarter hour after getting on the end of a Georgia Wilson corner.

The goal got City moving and Young opened her account on 19 minutes forcing a mistake from the visiting ‘keeper before putting the ball into the empty net.

It was 3-1 a minute later as Young finished well after taking Gerogia Wilson’s pass.

Jess Hogg finished a fine team move on 27 minutes to make it four before Young sealed her hat-trick 10 minutes before the interval after good work from Emily Wilson.

It was six of the best in the in the first half as Young headed home Hogg’s cross.

Young had two more quick goals at the start of the second period to make it 7-1, the second a fine flick over her head.

The captain then completed her scoring for the day on 77 minutes with a fine solo effort.

Gerogia Wilson got goal number nine beating the ‘keeper low to her right meaning they now sit second in the table.
