Lancaster City Ladies went top of Division Two of the Lancashire FA Women’s County League with a 6-0 win over Great Harwood Rovers Ladies on Sunday.
Emily Wilson had seen a shot go just wide before Miya Jackson put the hosts ahead with a left-foot shot on 12 minutes after Alison Capstick had flicked on Lydia Gorst’s throw in.
Kayleigh Young completed a fine team move on 23 minutes to make it 2-0, the score at the interval.
It was three early in the second period as Wilson headed home Emma Gardner’s corner shortly after seeing an effort come back off the crossbar.
Capstick got in on the act to make it 4-0 on 54 minutes, exchanging a one-two with Young on the edge of the box before beating the on-rushing ‘keeper.
Player of the match Gardner made it five on 78 minutes with a 25-yard shot that dipped under the crossbar and in.
Young completed the scoring two minutes later, beating two defenders before finishing well.
The Dollies next host Accrington this Sunday as they look to maintain top spot in the early standings.
