LANCASTER City boss Tony Hesketh is confident his team can bounce back after their disappointing last-gasp defeat at the weekend.

The Blues are high on self-belief despite losing to an injury time goal by Garforth Town on Saturday, Hesketh said.

City went down 2-1 after outplaying Garforth for much of the match, dropping down to eighth in the Evo-Stik First Division North in the process.

“We were disappointed to lose,” Hesketh said. “I felt that we did enough to win the game but all credit to Garforth, they gave it a real go. It was a cracking non-league game with lots of goalmouth incidents.

“Because we had won the three previous games we did have a slight cushion and I have said before that we will not win every game and we must deal with it and move on.

“The table still looks very healthy for us compared with a few weeks ago and our future is in our own hands.”
