TONY Hesketh believes Lancaster City’s 5-1 demolition of Trafford on Tuesday could be the catalyst for his side to push on in the race for promotion.
A brace from Simon Wills and goals from Lee Dodgson, Zach Clark and Tom Wood gave City their third victory in a row as they moved into the play-off places.
The Dolly Blues boss also saw his side ease to a 2-0 victory at struggling Wakefield last Saturday and believes they are now putting the performances in to match recent results.
Hesketh said: “We worked very hard for the points at Wakefield and it was a much improved performance from the game against Warrington.
“We controlled the game without getting out of second gear.
“Against Trafford it was like switching the tap back on and we produced one of our best performances of the season.
“Trafford are a good side and won’t lose 5-1 again this season. It could be the catalyst for the rest of the season.”
