Hesketh furious as Fylde chase striker

TONY Hesketh has been left “angered” and “embarrassed” by a bid from rivals AFC Fylde for star striker Danny Hattersley.

The big-spending Coasters put in a seven-day notice on an approach for the Isle of Man-born forward on Friday.

Hesketh is dismayed with Dave Challinor’s side because Hattersley found out about the potential bid from former Lancaster players connected with Fylde, rather than hearing it first from the City boss.

Hesketh said: “Fylde put a seven day notice in on Friday which means we’ve got seven days to talk to Danny to persuade him to stay.

“But he found out from former players and that has angered me.

“I’ve called Fylde and lodged a complaint because that should not have happened.”
