Farsley first up for City

LANCASTER City will begin their season away to Farsley Celtic.

City travel to the Yorkshire side on Saturday, August 13, before their first home game of the season against Rhodri Giggs’ Salford City on Tuesday, August 16.

Giggs, the younger brother of Manchester United legend Ryan, has been splashed across several tabloid papers in the past few months over stories relating to both his and his brother’s private lives.

Another interesting date for City fans will be the visit of AFC Fylde on August 29, a side that will contain several former Lancaster faces, including the Dolly Blues’ top scorer last season Dave Swarbrick.

Tony Hesketh’s side end the season at home to Warrington Town on Saturday April 21.

City also learned their fate in cup competitions this week.

In the FA Cup preliminary round the Dolly Blues travel to either Formby FC or Alsager Town, tie to be played on September 3.

In the FA Trophy preliminary round City travel to Garforth Town, tie to be played on October 8.
