LANCASTER City are confident of keeping hold of manager Tony Hesketh despite him being linked with the vacant manager’s position at AFC Fylde.
Hesketh has been touted by some as the man to take over at the big-spending Coasters after Kelham O’Hanlon left the club by mutual consent on Monday.
The pre-season promotion favourites are currently eighth in the Evo-Stik First Division North, sixteen points behind leaders Skelmersdale United and Curzon Ashton, with games in hand on both sides.
City chairman Mick Hoyle said he was not surprised Hesketh, who guided the Dolly Blues to their first silverware in a decade when they lifted the President’s Cup in April, had been linked with the post.
He said: “I’m not surprised Tony has been linked with them. He has a great track record and is one of the top guys in the area.
“But we are confident of keeping hold of him.”
