Brown hoping to keep team together

ALL of Lancaster City’s President’s Cup winning squad have been invited back for the new season.

As the players are non-contract they could easily move on to new clubs, but assistant manager Phil Brown is hopeful the nucleus of the squad will remain the same.

Brown also reiterated the club’s desire to strengthen the squad as the Dolly Blues prepare for another tilt at promotion from the Evo-Stik Division One North.

He said: “We are not aware of anyone leaving the club. We spoke to everyone at the end of the season and there have been a few calls here and there and we’ve invited everyone back. No-one has been released.

“Some of the players may seek pastures new as we can’t offer them pots of gold. They’re not under contract, it’s just a registration form after all.

“We hope to have a large part of last year’s squad though, as they’ve got another year under their belts. But we are looking to strengthen in key areas where we maybe need a bit more experience and quality.”
