Neil Marshall column: Harrogate up first and after that attention can turn to cup final

Despite all the excitement about Monday night's cup final we can't look past our game at Harrogate Railway Athletic on Saturday.

All the talk is about our big game at the Macron Stadium but we have to get ourselves up for our bread and butter of the league first, especially given our position.

We’re ninth but the play-off race is really wide open. We knew even when we had played five games more than some teams that it was going to be close and now we’re only two points behind the top five.

There’s nine games left and 27 points to play for so there’s a long way to go.

I’m not going to say we’ve got an easy run in or hard one but it does look easier than some so things could get really interesting in the closing weeks of the season.

More results like the 6-1 win over Ossett Albion last Saturday will certainly put us right in the hunt.

It was quite a strange game to be honest.

We went ahead early on but then they got back into the game and we were a bit sloppy for the rest of the first half.
They put us under some pressure and we threw our bodies in front of some shots.

Going in at 1-1 we knew we weren’t quite at it physically. We said we needed to get in their more faces which we did, and look what happened.

It was a great day for Zach Clark who scored another four goals. He’s flying in games and to be fair he’s been the same in training over the last couple of weeks.

It’s just one of those things where goals give you confidence and he’s certainly got that at the moment.

Hopefully there’s more to come from him over the next few games.
