Morecambe's deadline day could be a quiet one

The Shrimps’ manager has brought three players to the Mazuma Stadium over the course of the month.
Reading keeper Jokull Andresson came in on an emergency seven-day loan last week, keeping clean sheets in the victories against Colchester United and Exeter City.
Earlier this month, Blackburn Rovers loanee Brad Lyons joined the club on a deal until the end of the season.
With his side sitting third in League Two just past the midway point of the season, it could be argued this is the perfect time to strengthen if Adams could so within squad and budgetary constraints.
“I wouldn’t say we’re done in case someone comes along that excites me,” the manager said
“There are many players out there, who are going to have to come in and improve the squad for that to be the case.
“We can’t just take a player in for the sake of it. We’ve missed out on a few players but that’s the nature of the window.
“It’s important we take in players at this stage who have got experience and Kyle has that.”
Morecambe’s position at the top end of the table means it wouldn’t be a surprise if some of their players had attracted attention from elsewhere.
Aaron Wildig had been linked with a couple of sides in League One, while the rumour mill claimed Carlos Mendes-Gomes would be joining Blackpool for a fee in the region of £100,000.
Adams had said last week that an unnamed player was the subject of an offer, one quickly turned down by the Morecambe hierarchy.
He expects that to be the case come 11pm on Monday and hopes to see the same faces when Morecambe travel to Stevenage next week.
“Nothing is happening and I don’t expect it to happen either,” added Adams.
“I think it (the unnamed offer) was just a case of a club chancing its arm.
“I think they had just been fed a bit of information that wasn’t correct.”
