The former Bolton Wanderers man has agreed a one-year deal with the Shrimps from tomorrow – subject to international clearance.

The 30-year-old’s arrival follows on from the signings of Jason Oswell and Andrew Tutte as boss Jim Bentley reshapes his squad for the new season.

Sinclair began his career with Bolton, making his first-team debut as a replacement for Idan Tal in their 2-2 draw at Chelsea in April 2007.

Since then he has played for Sektia Res Tziona in Israel, Seville FC in Puerto Rico and Polonia Bytom in Poland before joining Swedish clubs Ljungskille and Ostersunds, where he was a team-mate of Morecambe defender Steven Old.

“James has great experience and comes highly recommended by Steven Old,” Bentley told the club’s website.

“I first saw him play when I was studying Steven this time last season and, during the past couple of months, I’ve watched a lot of footage of James and think he would be a good addition to our squad.

“He is a very versatile player who can play in several positions and we are really looking forward to working with him.”
