Morecambe look to dispel memories of Hartlepool horror show
The Shrimps head to League 2’s bottom side looking to dispel memories of a result in April that left them in real relegation trouble themselves.
Jim Bentley’s side were a goal and a man to the good before somehow contriving to lose the game 2-1.

Hide AdAhead of Sunday’s clash, the Shrimps boss said: “We went 1-0 up and they went down to 10 men and you’re thinking you’re going to cruise the game through but it was one of the lowest points of last season.
“We’ve got a score to settle, we want to go up there and get a result. It wasn’t nice.”
On paper the game looks like a good opportunity for the Shrimps to get back to winning ways after a Boxing Day defeat at the hands of Carlisle.
However, with new owners and a new manager in former Rotherham and Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore, Pools represent a different test than a few weeks ago.

“They’ve got a new manager who will give them a little shot in the arm though.
“But we’ve got to make sure we’re positive, whatever team goes out will be organised and we’ll just try and get that little finishing touch right which our play against Carlisle needed.
“It’s another big game, only 48 hours after Carlisle where we’re up and at it again.
“Hopefully we can get back to winning ways.”
