Morecambe find out the starting date for the 2021/22 season

The EFL has confirmed the key dates for next season’s league and cup competitions.

It is set to get underway across the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two on the weekend of August 7, 2021.

Round one of the Carabao Cup starts in the week commencing August 9, with the the first Papa John’s Trophy matches three weeks later

League One will be the first of the three divisions to finish with the final matches on the weekend of April 30.

Morecambe have found out when the 2021/22 season starts

League Two and the Championship will play their last games on the weekend of May 7-8.

The play-offs will once again be staged at Wembley and conclude the campaign across two weekends in May.

League One’s play-off final will be first up on May 21, 2022 with the League Two and Championship matches on May 28 and 29 respectively.

Details regarding the fixture release date for the 2021/22 season will be announced in due course.
