A mix and match Morecambe side exited the Lancashire Senior Cup at Blackpool on Tuesday afternoon.
Paul Mullin and Kevin Ellison were on target for The Shrimps but Martin Paterson, Charles Dunne, Kwame Thomas and Connor Oliver scored for The Seasiders in a 4-2 in at Bloomfield Road.
In a side captained by Aaron McGowan, Andy Parrish also returned from a back injury while Ellison, Paul Mullin, Jack Ryan and Alex Kenyon got some game time.
Manchester United loanee Kieran O’Hara also featured in goal for The Shrimps with youngster Jack Kelleher back in action after a hamstring problem.
Mullin opened the scoring two minutes in with a shot that squirmed through the arms of keeper Myles Boney before the hosts took control.
Former Burnley man Paterson levelled things up before the break with Blackpool pulling clear after the interval.
Dunne powered home a header and on-loan striker Thomas then finished well one-on-one before Oliver made it four from the spot.
Morecambe veteran Ellison pulled a goal back late on from a free-kick but it proved to be too little, too late.
Morecambe: O’Hara, McGowan (capt), Curry, Webb, Parrish, Hedley, Bondswell, Kenyon, Ryan, Mullin, Ellison. Subs: Povey, Dawson, Box, Jordan, Kelleher.
