Derek Adams’ players will travel to the Essex-based Isthmian League North Division side over the weekend of November 6-9, looking to improve on the club’s dismal recent record in the competition.
In 13 seasons as an EFL club, the Shrimps have lost 10 first round ties and only reached the second stage in 2008/09, 2012/13 and 2017/18, losing to Cheltenham Town, Coventry City and Shrewsbury Town respectively.

Hide AdThe last time, in fact, that Morecambe reached round three was in 2003 when they were beaten at Ipswich Town.


There is also a financial incentive for victory, especially vital given the lack of matchday income as a result of no fans attending matches at present.
Victory would net the Shrimps £22,629 from the competition’s prize fund.
