Morecambe captain Murphy ruled out for three months
Morecambe captain Peter Murphy is set to miss three months of action with a knee injury.
The summer signing limped out of the opening day defeat at Hartlepool after just eight minutes on Saturday.
A scan has now revealed the damage as a grade three tear to his medial collateral ligament of his right knee.
Murphy was only named Shrimps captain on Thursday and is now likely to be missing until mid-November.
