The Shrimps are looking to consolidate their League Two play-off place with victory at the Mazuma Stadium.

However, they come up against an Oldham side who have scored nine goals in their last two games against Crawley Town and Colchester United.

Adams said: “They have come off two very good wins.

“They are one of the highest scorers in the division, we know that, so we have to look to be strong defensively.

“They have played in a variety of different ways and have changed to three at the back. They started the season with a three and have gone back to it.”

The Latics sit 16th in the table, having scored 64 times, a tally bettered only by Exeter City (65).

The problem has been defensively as they have conceded a division-high 68 goals.

That is something Adams wants his players to feed off, having scored four in the midweek win against Scunthorpe United.

“They have a vulnerability,” he said.

“That’s something we’ve got to look at in the game and try to exploit.

“We are obviously in confident mood but Oldham will be as well.”

Latics’ boss Keith Curle was among the onlookers at the Mazuma Stadium in midweek.

He witnessed a clinical display in front of goal from the Shrimps, who responded to defeat at Port Vale in emphatic style.

Adams said: “We played really well, following on from a good performance at Port Vale where we were just unable to get the ball in the back of the net.

“Port Vale defended well but it was nice to get some goals and get on a roll.”
