The Shrimps’ 10-match unbeaten run at home ended last weekend when Tranmere Rovers claimed a 1-0 win at the Mazuma Stadium.

A disappointing day saw Adam Phillips miss a penalty and Yann Songo’o sent off with the game goalless before Kaiyne Woolery headed a late winner for the visitors.

Adams said: “Last week was difficult for us. If Adam scores the penalty and Yann doesn’t get sent off, then I don’t see us losing the game.

“Those are the small margins in any game but we now look forward to going to Stevenage.

“Hopefully, we will have every player bar one back in contention for us.”

Although they dropped a place in the table as a consequence of that loss, results in midweek kept the Shrimps sixth in League Two just past the midway point of the season.

They now travel to face a Stevenage side who need the points for different reasons as they sit 21st in the table, four points clear of the bottom two.

The two sides have already met this season, Jordan Slew’s late equaliser giving Morecambe a 1-1 draw from the reverse fixture in mid-November.

Speaking after that match, the Shrimps’ boss claimed they had done enough on the day to claim the three points.

Adams acknowledged that had been a recurring theme with some of their performances over the course of the campaign so far.

“We have said that a few times this season,” he said.

“We’ve been in situations where we have probably dropped points, when we feel we have done enough to win.”
