“In my four years of being manager the injury situation is by far the worst it’s ever been.

“So to keep a clean sheet against that opposition, yes they did get through a few times and there was a little bit of poor finishing and Baz made some good saves, was great.

“Going the the other way we looked a little bit disjointed in the first half but second half we played with a lot more confidence and scored two absolutely brilliant goals.

“It’s nice to get the likes of Nathan Bondswell and Charlie Bailey on the pitch too because with Aaron McGowan that’s three 18, 19-year-olds who have come through the ranks.

“It’s been a great night for us. Confidence is high, the spirit’s really good, the crowd are enjoying themselves and these are the great days when everyone is happy.

“Like I said to the lads though, never too high, never too low.”
