The 0-0 draw also represented the hosts’ third home game in a row without a goal but Bentley was looking to the positives after a game made very difficult by high winds in the resort.

The Shrimps boss said: “Someone’s gone down to the prom and turned the wind machine on.

“I’ve had it for 13 years, you turn up and hope it dies down but you could see from the first clearance what kind of day it was going to be.

“Credit to both sides though who tried to play a little bit. Am I pleased? I want to score in front of our home fans, that’s one of our aims at the moment.

“We’re just not getting it right at the business end but we are creating chances and at the other end of the pitch it’s 10 clean sheets now.

“We kept eight all of last season and since I’ve been here the best we’ve had is 12 and we’re well on course to beat that.

“We seem to have that end of the pitch sorted. We’re a difficult nut to crack at the moment.

“We’re trying hard up top but for one reason or another we just haven’t put the ball in the back of the net.

“It’s a point and the lads have battled hard to get something positive on the board.

“On the downside we haven’t scored and we’ve picked up a couple of injuries and we’re relatively thin of the ground at the moment.

“We take the point and move on.”
