The Shrimps shocked promotion-chasing Bury with a come-from-behind 2-1 win on Easter Monday to underline their excellent form away from the Globe Arena.

Bentley’s side now head back home to face Portsmouth on Saturday looking for a first win in six at the Globe.

The Shrimps boss said: “I just feel like playing in purple and black at home, the away kit, and see if it brings up any luck.

“We keep giving our all, we want to win games at home.

“On our travels I couldn’t have asked for any more but I’m so frustrated that we can’t turn our performances and form away from home into home performances.

“We’re on the same points tally as we had in the whole of last season and we’ve still go time to play.

“The lads have given it their all throughout the season and we are going to have our ups and downs.

“We just want to turn our home form around and finish the season strongly.”

Bentley’s side are safely in midtable with five games to play meaning they should be able to play with freedom between now and the end of the season.
It is something The Shrimps boss insists he has tried to instil in his side all season.

He said: “We’ve been playing with freedom already.

“We played four forwards against Hartlepool and got beaten 1-0 against a team who hadn’t kept a clean sheet in 12 months.

“We’re working hard and we know where we need to improve.

“We start again at home with Portsmouth on Saturday which is a big game.

“They’re not great on their travels, we’re not great at home but we’re coming off the back of a great victory at Bury.

“Hopefully we can give our fans something to cheer about.”
