Shaun Miller and Kevin Ellison were on target for The Shrimps in an action-packed 2-1 win that saw them move within four points of the League 2 play-offs.

Bentley said: “It’s a massive three points.

“Credit to both sets of players, I thought the game was played in the right manner.

“It had a bit of nastiness but that’s what we want and it had a bit of a cup tie feel.

“I thought it was a fantastic game. It was the first game here on a Saturday in about three months and it looks like the crowd was a bit bigger and they were treated.

“It had everything. Penalty misses, chances, disallowed goals, goals scored, both sets of players giving it their all in difficult conditions and playing some good stuff at times as well.

“Credit to our lads because we went 1-0 down, battled back, and scored two great goals to win the game.

“It was a very nerve-wracking final couple of minutes when they were throwing everyone forward and I was very relieved when the lad had the chance at the end that he put over the bar.

“It was a great win that pushes us on a bit and sets us up for the next five games in two weeks.”
