Morecambe announce pre-season schedule

Morecambe will lock horns with Burnley again this pre-season.

The majority of Morecambe's pre-season campaign has been confirmed.

The Shrimps’ opening friendly sees them travel to Evo-Stik First Division North side Bamber Bridge on Tuesday, July 12.

The first action at the Globe will be a mini-tournament involving Championship side Blackburn and League 1 Bury on Saturday, July 16.

The three-game competition will see Bury take on Blackburn at 1pm before The Shrimps place Blackburn at 2.30pm and Bury at 4pm.

Newly-promoted Premier League side Burnley then visit the resort on Tuesday, July 19 with an away trip on Saturday, July 23 the only gap in the schedule to be confirmed.

Morecambe host Preston at the Globe Arena on Tuesday, July 26 before a trip to Evo-Stik First Division North side Clitheroe the following day Wednesday, July 27.

There are then two games on Saturday, July 30, with one Shrimps side hosting a Liverpool XI and another travelling to Welsh Premier League outfit Rhyl

Morecambe’s 10th season in the Football League kicks off seven days later on August 6.
