TWO stunning goals earned Morecambe a third successive League win.
Kevin Ellison gave the Shrimps a dream start with a stunning goal on eight minutes. The summer signing received the ball on the half volley 30 yards out from Danny Carlton’s lay off and he let fly with a superb left foot shot that flew into the top left hand corner of Jamie Young’s goal.
Aldershot hit back with Danny Hylton hitting the crossbar on 20 minutes with a dipping shot from the edge of the area that took a wicked deflection.
A minute later they had the ball in the back of the net through Peter Vincenti but thankfully for Morecambe the goal was ruled out for a push.
Both sides continued to press with Phil Jevons wasting a glorious opportunity when one on one with Jamie Young before the Shots finished the fist half on top with Alex Rodman forcing Barry Roche into a neat save after Danny Hylton had missed a good chance when he fired over from the edge of the area after some poor defending.
Aldershot had a great chance to level early in the second half when Michael Rankine missed the target from four yards out when he looked sure to tap home Alex Rodman’s far post cross.
Morecambe had to defend for long periods but they added the all important second 13 minutes from time when Lewis Alessandra scored with a superb strike from 30 yards to give the Shrimps the points.
Morecambe boss Jim Bentley makes one change to the starting line up with Kevin Ellison making his first start for the Shrimps in place of Lewis Alessandra who drops to the bench.
