MORECAMBE failed to get the win they were looking for to end their poor run.
The two early season pace setters who have struggled for victories in recent weeks fought a tough goalless draw with both defences very much on top.
The first half saw Morecambe provide the majority of the chances on offer.
Lewis Alessandra looked the most likely to open the scoring forcing Ryan Clarke into three saves with shots from distance.
At the other end Oxford threatened with some dangerous cross from Damien Batt and the home defence forced to make some vital blocks from James Constable and Peter Leven.
The visitors stepped up the pace in the second period and Barry Roche was the busier keeper making excellent saves from Asa Hall and Damien Batt,
Alessandra once again went close for Morecambe with a shot that flew inches wide of the right hand post with Clarke beaten.
The defences remained on top though and both sides had to settle for a point.
