Marshall celebrates new Dolly Blues deal with a victory
Jimmy Marshall and his management team celebrated their new two-year contract at Lancaster City with an astonishing win at Whitby Town last weekend.
Marshall's play-off chasers won 3-1 on the east coast despite trailing until the 79th minute and playing most of the second half with 10 men following Bobby Bjork's red card.

However, Dylan Thompson, an own goal and Nic Evangelinos' 14th of the season turned the game on its head, leaving the seventh-placed Dolly Blues two points outside the play-off zone with seven to play.
A day earlier, the new deal was announced for manager Marshall and coaches Gavin Clark and Lee Marshall, which runs to the end of the 2027/28 season.
Marshall, who arrived from Kendal Town to take the reins at his hometown club last April, said: “We are delighted to lead Lancaster City for another two years and can’t thank everyone enough for their support so far.
“We feel it’s exciting times ahead for the club and are willing to work hard to build on the progress the club has made so far while we have been here. It has been a really enjoyable spell at the club so far for us and all the directors, staff and volunteers have been a pleasure to work with, along with a fantastic group of players.
“Our relationship with the supporters is fantastic and one we hope to build on and keep increasing attendances.”
A club statement reads: “Since Jimmy arrived at the Giant Axe, he and his staff have worked tirelessly to support and develop the club both on and off the pitch.
“Operating during a period of continued financial restrictions, the management team have shown tremendous commitment, professionalism and resilience in helping to guide the club forward, while maintaining the competitive spirit and identity that Lancaster City supporters value so highly.
“Throughout their time at the club, Jimmy, Gavin, and Lee have built a strong connection with the players, supporters, volunteers and staff.”
Four of the Dolly Blues' remaining games are at home, starting against Cleethorpes Town this Saturday.
Lancaster's Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy final against Padiham will take place on Wednesday, April 15 at the County Ground in Leyland, with a 7.30pm kick-off.
