City are also on course to be the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League’s best behaved club this season after being named for a third time as one of the monthly fair play winners. The Giant Axe side picked up the inaugural awards of the 2016-17 campaign covering August and September and the January prize before completing the hat-trick.

The winners of each of the league’s three divisions collect £1,000 at the end of the season.

As of the end of February, the Dollies have a disciplinary average of 0.88 with their closest rivals Clitheroe on 1.14 and Tadcaster Albion on 1.15.

Elsewhere at the club, trials for the Blues’ new Development Squad take place at Giant Axe this Sunday.

Youngsters ranging from under 10s to under 13s are invited to come along and try out for the Dolly Blues’ new youth teams.

Run by Orange Soccer Academy, the teams will be affiliated to Lancaster City as the club tries to produce its own players from the local area.

Players will still be able to turn out for their usual Lancaster and Morecambe Service to Youth League clubs once the young city sides are set-up.
