Lancaster have won through to the final of the LFA Challenge Trophy where they are due to face Prestwich Heys at Wigan Athletic’s DW Stadium.

Unfortunately, the showpiece match has been postponed due to the Covid-19 crisis and doubts remain as to whether it will go ahead.

The Lancashire Football Asssociation have mooted the idea of playing the final as a pre-season fixture, but once again that is all dependent on the coronavirus.

“We have not heard too much about the final,” said Carsley.

“It would be good if we can play that when we get back.

“I think we are going to play Prestwich and on paper that is a game for us that we can really push for the win.

“But obviously football is football and you never know what might happen. It would be great if we can go-ahead with that in pres-season.

“It would be a great way to start the season by winning a bit of silverware.”
