Lancaster City bosses seek boardroom boost

With just two executive directors, chairman Stuart Houghton and vice-chairman Mark Knight, the club feel more people at a senior level would help the Evo-Stik First Division North club reach its potential.

Plenty of plans are afoot at Giant Axe, with a new academy being lined up for next season, but Mr Houghton and Mr Knight both admit they need support in order to make their plans a reality.

Mr Knight, who handles most of the day-to-day operations at the club during the week and on match days, said: “It’s frustrating because there is the potential to take this club up into the NPL Premier, where we belong, but having to manage so much with so few is holding us back.”
