Lancaster and Morecambe football programme almost entirely washed out

Lancaster City’s game at Derbyshire side New Mills in the Evo-Stik First Division North was called off on Saturday morning after a pitch inspection.

There are also doubts over the Dolly Blues’ Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy quarter-final against Ashton Athletic at Giant Axe on Tuesday night due to the flooding and electricity issues in the area.

On Saturday, Phil Brown’s side are then due to host Scarborough Athletic as they return to league action.

The West Lancashire Premier Division programme was also a washout with Slyne-with-Hest’s game at Charnock Richard and Garstang’s game at Hesketh Bank called off.

The sides will hope to return to action in the Richardson Cup this weekend but Garstang’s Riverside Ground pitch and clubhouse has been damaged by flood water.

Neil Crossley’s men are due to host Blackpool Wren Rovers while Slyne welcome Eagley in the first round ties.
