Jim Bentley was pleased his side got what they deserved after an entertaining 4-2 win over Barnet at the Globe Arena on Saturday.

Shaun Miller scored twice and somehow missed out on a hat-trick with Alex Kenyon and Cole Stockton also on target for The Shrimps.

Michael Gash scored both on Barnet’s goals on a day where The Shrimps looked like running riot at one point but were pegged back twice.

Bentley said: “It was a thoroughly deserved three points.

“It could have easily been seven or eight, we’ve created that many chances.

“It was a big game for us, we’ve needed a result, especially in front of our home fans.

“I keep saying it but in the main our performances have been okay since the turn of the year.

“We’ve had an unbelievable amount of bad luck that’s gone against us, I’ve never known a season like it.

“We haven’t been steamrollered by anyone but going into today’s game it was still a bit squeaky.

“We’ve needed the three points that gives you that little injection and hopefully we can go onto Tuesday night (at Dagenham) and be confident and positive.

“We got what we deserved today and that’s great. There was some really positive performances.

“There were a couple of little bits we need to learn from but in the main it was good. We could have had another penalty, the ‘keeper could have been sent off, we had chance after chance.

“I’m pleased for everyone involved, the players, the staff and most of all the fans, they really got behind the team today and that was really reflected in the performance.”
