Garstang had to dig deep to pick up a point with a 2-2 draw against a very experienced Fulwood Amateurs side in the West Lancashire Premier Division on Tuesday night.
Fulwood, managed by former Lancaster City boss Tony Hesketh, took the lead just 14 minutes in through Darren Green as they dominated large periods of the game.
But Garstang were level on 56 minutes with Matty Poole hammering home a free-kick.
The visitors were back in front six minutes later however when former Northwich Victoria and Kendal manager Lee Ashcroft was quickest to react to a ball coming back off the post.
The home side equalised for a second time 20 minutes from time however through Leon Gierke who has scored in each of his three games since returning to the club.
Garstang then withstood some considerable Fulwood pressure in the closing stages before nearly snatching all three points as Aaron Helliwell hit the crossbar with a 25-yard free-kick.
On Saturday, Iain Swan’s side were convincing 6-1 victors over Crooklands Casuals at the Riverside.
Poole scored twice with Gierke, Matthew Bell, Gary Fawcett and Chris Anderson also on the scoresheet.
The home side were five goals to the good before Tom Heywood got a consolation for the Casuals.
Garstang host Euxton Villa this Saturday, April 12.
