Garstang were held to a dour 0-0 draw by 10-man Euxton Villa at the Riverside on Saturday.
Leon Gierke had a chance after seven minutes but shot weekly at visiting ‘keeper Gibbs.
The home side’s only other chance of any note in the first half came on the half hour when Gierke headed a near post cross wide.
Euxton had a good strike by Wilson headed clear by Baker before they were reduced to 10 men when Thompson received a straight red for a two-footed challenge on McEvoy.
The one man advantage wasn’t apparent in the second half however with Andrew, Bolton and substitute Horner all having opportunities for Euxton.
For Garstang, Taylor almost scrambled the ball home and Anderson hit a shot against the bar as the hosts missed the chance to pick up points that almost certainly would have guaranteed their West Lancashire Premier League status for another season.
