Lancaster City link up with Lancaster Univeristy for the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's new academy.

From the 2015-2016 academic year, 16 to 18-year-olds will be able to study for a Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) qualification, up to university entry, Level 3 National Diploma, and play football in the competitive newly-formed league.

The club and the university will be running an awareness campaign in local youth leagues and colleges in the coming weeks with a view to having the first trials as soon as possible.

During the two-year course enrolled students will also be able to obtain their Level 1 and 2 coaching badges.
