LANCASTER City striker Joe Bunney was on the mark for England Schools’ U18 side last week during their tour of southern Spain.
The Myerscough College student scored the equaliser from the penalty spot as the young Three Lions side came from behind to beat Valencia U17s 2-1 last Thursday.
The trip, which saw the team based in Alicante, acted as preperation for the upcoming international season and Centenary Shield against fellow home nations Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Bunney missed the opening game of the trip, a 4-1 victory over Benidorm on the evening of Tuesday, February 14, as he was suffering from tonsillitis.
The young striker will next pull on an England shirt on March 2 when the Three Lions travel to play Wales in the opening game of the Centenary Shield.
They then visit the iconic Windsor Park to play Northern Ireland on March 23 before home games against Scotland at Newcastle’s St James’ Park on April 12 and the Republic at Brighton’s Amex Stadium on April 26, both of which will be live on Sky Sports.
