The Shrimps head to Broadhall Way knowing they will be in for a physical challenge against Graham Westley’s Boro as they look to bounce back from defeat against Portsmouth.

Stevenage are two points behind the Shrimps in 15th in League 2 and are looking to climb the table themselves after a patchy run of form.

Bentley said: “They’ve been a little up and down.

“You can’t read too much into last Saturday (a 1-0 defeat at Northampton) because they didn’t finish the FA Cup game (at Maidstone United) until Thursday night.

“I should imagine they were fatigued from a game which they lost.

“But you know what you’re getting from a Graham Westley side.

“They’ll be energetic, organised and up for the battle.

“It’s away from home again but it’ll be nice to go to Stevenage again. I’ve had some good games there over the years.

“It’s a tough match and Stevenage away is one where you’ve got to roll your sleeves up and fight fire with fire and match their endeavour and work rate.”

Westley is a figure that divides opinion, especially after his spell as manager of Preston North End.

But Bentley has respect for the outspoken manager’s achievements in the game.

He said: “He’s a little bit different to the majority.

“He has his own ways but there’s no doubting he’s a good manager.

“Anyone who can get a team out of the Conference and then League 2 back-to-back has got my respect.

“It’s an unbelievable achievement.”
