Bentley: Plenty to think about when it comes to Wildig

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley says he hasn’t thought too much about whether Aaron Wildig will be a Shrimps player next season.

The Shrewsbury loanee has had his Globe Arena stay extended until the end of the season and could follow the likes of Jamie Devitt in joining the Shrimps permanently after a successful loan spell.

Bentley however says there is plenty to think about, with transfer decisions ahead of next season being made in the next week or two.

He said: “He hasn’t played at Shrewsbury, they’re getting promoted, he’s out of contract and it looks like he’ll leave the club.

“We’ve done it in the past with the likes of Shaun Beeley and Jamie Devitt where they can have a look at you and you can have a look at them and maybe something can happing going forward.

“Aaron’s the same, we know what he’s all about but there’s other factors.

“Other clubs might come in for him and there’s the location, he’s from Hereford.

“He stays here a couple of nights a week at the moment but it’ll mean him moving if he does come here.

“I’ve not really given it much thought at the moment but over the next seven to 10 days we’ll start looking and identifying what we can and can’t do.

“There’s finances to take into consideration and as always happens players will leave the club and new ones will come in.

“We’ve got targets and we’re just starting to speak to one or two who are out of contract and we’ll see what happens.”
