Bentley pays tribute to ‘great pro’ Drummond

JIM Bentley has paid tribute to Stewart Drummond as he prepares to make his 500th senior league start against Oxford this weekend.

If selected on Saturday for the Shrimps’ first game in two weeks, the popular midfielder will also start his 350th league game for the club since making his debut in the 1994-95 season.

The figures from internet site Soccerbase show how his other 150 starts came during spells with Chester and Shrewsbury.

When you take cup games into account, Drummond is nearing the 550 game mark, a figure Bentley says his reserve team coach can be proud of.
