Morecambe boss Jim Bentley says he hopes a big crowd will inspire his side against Dagenham on Tuesday night.

The club have made the unprecedented move of making the re-arranged game free entry to all fans in the face of falling Globe Arena crowds this season.

He said: “It is a massive game for us and I really hope a lot of people turn up and get behind us.

“We need to get as many points on the board as quickly as we can because the league is becoming more and more squeezed with clubs below us all picking up points now.

“We have done well at home recently and if we can turn draws into wins we will be okay.

“We have been solid but need to be more of a threat up front and create more chances.

“I watched Dagenham on Saturday at Accrington and they looked pretty sharp. They get the ball forward quickly and have a real presence that we will have to be wary of.”

The original fixture against the Daggers was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on December 22.

New signing Ryan Williams could make his debut after finally completing his long-awaited move to The Shrimps on Monday.

All areas of the Globe Arena will be free entry, with turnstile entry to the home terraces from 6.30pm.

Tickets for the PMG Main Stand seating areas will be available from the club shop or ticket office from 5.30pm on a first come first served basis.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm.
