Five swimmers from Carnforth Otters have qualified for the National Championships to be held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield in August.
It has been many years since the club has had so many qualifiers for the event which is the highlight of the British junior swimming calendar bringing together the very best in the country.
Rachel Ritchie, 18. will compete in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke events, Josh Thompson, 16, in the 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m breaststroke, 15-year-old William Ritchie in the 100m breaststroke, Jess Shatford, 14, in the 50 and 100m breaststroke and first-time qualifier Holly Salisbury, 13, will make her debut in the 100m freestyle.
Josh and Rachel have also qualified for the British Gas International Championships, this year being held in Manchester, starting on June 24.
It will be a fantastic opportunity for the two young swimmers to compete against Olympic medalists Michael Jamieson and Ruta Meilutyte in their respective 100m breaststroke events.
Josh and Rachel will also compete in the 50m breaststroke with Rachel also swimming with her City of Manchester Aquatics team mates in the relay events.
The pair have also been selected to represent the North West Region in the English Schools (ESSA) Inter Divisional finals and will travel down to Bristol with the rest of the team at the end of June.
