In the men’s category 2,3 and 4 race a field of 45 battled it out in a fast-paced race.

Small groups constantly tried to break away but failed to build up more than a 15-second advantage.

A large bunch sprint seemed inevitable for the second half of the race but a crash on the penultimate lap stretched out the field.

Coming to the finish it was a clear win for Ellis Kirkbride of North City Velo from James Claydon of The Nab RT with Fabian Brennan of North City Velo in third.

In the women’s race a small field of 10 riders took to the start line with a group of fiver riders, Gabby Duckworth of Lune RCC, Rebecca Rimmington of Ikon Mazda, Gemma Sergeant of The Racing Chance Foundation, Sarah Rose of Team 22 and Frances White of Team Jadan making the break.

This group worked together to pull away before Rimmington made a solo move with a handful of laps to go, taking the win ahead of a small group sprint won by White.
