Lancaster’s cricketing juniors won two games in as many days last week as the Under 12s and Under 14s both defeated Holme Cricket Club.
The under 12s kept Holme’s batting score down to 44 after 20 overs with Jacob Orr taking three wickets in quick succession in an excellent spell.
Katie Lindsay took two more wickets leaving Holme needing to bowl well to be in with a chance.
However Lancaster openers Tom Padfield and Anubab Roy stood firm scoring 17 and 18 respectively to win the game without losing a wicket.
Lancaster Under 14s were chasing their first win of the season and gave themselves a great chance by scoring 92 from 20 overs.
Joseph Collin batted explosively for his 30, well supported by Jack Bolland (15), and captain Reuben Orr (16).
Holme started well in reply scoring quickly but were pegged back by some accurate spin from Lancaster’s Aniket Kochher who took two wickets for one run in his four overs.
Holme reached 66 giving Lancaster a well-deserved first win.
