The Lune Road side’s short-form side will hoping to go one better than last year when they reached the TWP Wealth Twenty20 finals day where they lost to eventual winners Netherfield at the semi-final stage at Darwen Cricket Club.

The decision to change the name was taken at an EGM held in the pavilion with a revamped committee headed by new chairman Brendan Hetherington also appointed.

The club are looking to bounce back from a difficult year on and off the field with club officials hoping the new-look hierarchy will allow players to concentrate on playing rather than administration.

Moves will now be made to appoint 1st XI and 2nd XI captains as well as recruit new players.

Last season’s struggles saw Lancaster battle towards the bottom of the Northern Premier League having challenged for the title 12 months earlier.
